Hospice Clinical Fellow (6 months fixed term)
Contract: 6 months fixed term
Hours: 40 hours per week plus 1:4 weekday and 1:5 weekend on-call rota.
Holiday: 35 days including public holidays per annum
Salary: Reflective of previous experience on Clinical Fellow or SHO Pay Scale

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Hospice Clinical Fellow
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Consultant Physicians, you can expect your working day to include the following:
· Attending morning handover on the Inpatient Unit
· Working with Advanced Nurse Practitioners to ensure all inpatients are reviewed each day
· Organising investigations that may be required
· Admitting new inpatients
· Holding regular meetings with families and carers of inpatients
· Attending once-weekly multidisciplinary clinical meeting
· Completing discharge summaries and ensuring Primary Care teams are kept up to date with a patients progress
· Taking advice telephone calls from primary and secondary care colleagues when Consultants not available immediately
· Providing a non-resident first on call service one night a week and 1:5 weekends

To succeed in the role of Hospice Clinical Fellow you will need the following qualities and skills:
· A willingness to learn new ways of working
· Be someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and clinical team members
· Be someone who recognises the potential application of increased confidence in end-of-life care to work in all medical specialties
