Community Healthcare Support Worker (2 posts) (Ref. 174868)

2 x Full-time posts available 37 hours per week

Fixed term for 18 months

Band 3 - Salary Range £25,468 – £27,486 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum


Are you are an experienced Health Care Support Worker or Social Care Worker, who is enthusiastic about your role and wants to make a difference? If so we want you to join us working as part of the nursing team delivering care to the population of Shetland in a primary care and community setting.


NHS Shetland has been afforded funding for a primary care improvement project, so improve access to healthcare across Shetland, to align with the NHS Shetland Clinical and Care Strategy.   These posts will support innovative care delivery across primary care, and working may be in a variety of locations, including the patient’s home.


You will work under the direction of the Registered Nurses in the community nursing team. Being based across community nursing to support Practice Nurses in primary care and the community nursing team.


Skills in phlebotomy, ECG and basic observations would be advantageous but training can be provided. Full driving license is essential as is a willingness to work autonomously.
