NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is 7.5 hour shifts over 7 days (37.5 hours).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for one Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse position within Older People and Stroke wards in IRH.
The post holder will be supported to develop managerial and leadership skills in order to lead the team across OPSS wards. The post holder will work with the Lead Nurse and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. The successful candidate will be able to evidence relevant learning within Older Peoples care and will have excellent communication and organisational skills. As well as full understanding of the importance of frailty screening for our patients.
Knowledge, training and experience:
- Diploma/Degree
- 1st Level Registered Nurse
- Suitable level of experience at Band 6
- Excellent clinical knowledge
- Excellent Leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Multi Disciplinary Team Working
- Good mediation skills
- Good time management
- Good organisational skills.
- Effective decision making and problem solving skills
- Self motivated, articulate and assertive
