NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
The post holder will be responsible for all junior medical rotas across Mental Health Services ensuring the rota templates are fully compliant and that each rota is appropriately staffed and resourced without gaps. The post holder will also have responsibility for ensuring that agency and locum spend is critically analysed and monitored. The post holder will also have a key role in supporting the wellbeing and overall training experience of junior doctors within MHS. The post holder will support the bi-annual monitoring of all Junior Doctors within a designated area of responsibility and provide advice and practical support to local management, Consultants and Clinical Directors to help secure and maintain New Deal and EWTD compliance for Junior doctors. This includes maintaining an overview of Junior Doctor compliance in terms of hours and non-hour standards (i.e. rostered hours, accommodation and catering).
The post holder will assist with service redesign where this affects the structure of current rotas. In conjunction with the Chief of Medicine, act as point of contact for Junior Doctors to seek advice and guidance on a day-to-day basis. The post holder should be educated to degree level preferably with a post-graduate or equivalent experience. Have knowledge and understanding of NHS GGC policies and their implementation, experience of budget management, be able to demonstrate advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of complex legislation and policy directives. Have experience in project management/ rota/ shift duty co-ordination and the ability to understand, communicate and interpret complex material.
