Would you like to lead an already motivated and compassionate Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Team as a Band 7 Senior Oncology Charge Nurse?

The Borders Macmillan Centre, nurse-led SACT facility is based in Borders General Hospital, treating 26-30 people per day, working in closely with onsite haematologists, NHS Lothian Oncologists and wider members of the Cancer Specialist team.

The successful post holder will demonstrate high professional standards, acting as a role model, to manage and lead the SACT team. Working autonomously, clinical decision making and excellent communication skills are essential in managing the safe care and delivery of SACT. The post holder will work in close collaboration with NHS Borders Lead SACT nurse, Nurse Consultant in Cancer and other multi-professionals within the South East Scotland Cancer network region.

Applicants are required to have extensive post registration experience with relevant band 6 or equivalent management experience in a systemic-anti cancer therapy (SACT) environment. Excellent skills in communication, organisation, effective leadership, SACT scheduling and respectful team working are key elements of the role. 

Commitment to professional development and ability to share learning within Oncology specialties are essential. Non-medical prescribing and clinical decision making qualifications are desirable but not essential.  Peer support and professional development are supported.
