A management opportunity has arisen within the Central Decontamination Unit (CDU) for an ambitious individual to join our Quality team.


We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to support decontamination of reusable medical devices (RMD) throughout NHS Tayside and NHS Fife within the stand alone accredited facility based within the grounds on Ninewells Hospital.


We are looking for an individual who has a focused approach, keen eye for detail and and to maintain and build on our existing quality system, ensuring compliance to our legislative requirements. The successful candidate will be required to continuously review quality procedures, standards and specifications for accuracy and compliance in an evolving medical industry and will be expected to have excellent leadership, communication and I.T skills.  


Ideally, the successful candidate will possess a full understanding of client needs and requirements to broaden effective quality control processes and, in achieving, will be responsible for gaining feedback from our customers to assess whether their requirements are being met with best practice and within the boundaries of legislative governance.  


Comprehensive knowledge and experience of health and safety requirements and legal obligations would also be preferable to support staff groups and working environments and an understanding of appraisal and training systems would be beneficial.


As Quality Assurance Manager, you will ideally have a background or understanding of quality systems and be educated to degree level or have extensive relevant experience; however, training and supervision will be available directly from the Quality and Technical Manager and the Production Unit Management team. 


The successful applicant will have the ability to undertake a work base IDSc Technical Certificate on commencement of the post.


You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work are: predominantly office hours 37.5 Hours per week (Monday to Friday) however a flexible approach will be required.
