We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join our developing service in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.  You will have opportunity to expand and develop your knowledge and skills for a range of adult acquired communication and swallowing difficulties with an emphasis on acute stroke care.

This post will provide swallowing and communication assessment and management for patients with primarily in the regional hyper acute stroke unit in Ninewells Hospital. The post holder will also support and supervise junior staff members and work closely with CSWs with the inpatient case load. MDT working is key within this setting. The pathway for stroke patient in Tayside is currently under development and there will be close liaison with the community SLT team for in reach and outreach to ensure smooth and timely transitions from hospital to home.

The post holder will contribute to/ run training sessions for staff and be involved in SLT, AHP, nursing and medical student training.

You will join a supportive team of experienced therapists at Ninewells Hospital and be part of the wider Tayside SLT service. Professional development is supported and encouraged through our clinical supervision, appraisal structure and regular team meetings.

You must be HCPC registered.

Ninewells Hospital is a busy teaching hospital in Dundee with over 900 beds, serving the population of Tayside and North East Fife. Dundee, known as the City of Discovery, has a fantastic riverside location featuring the V&A museum. It has great transport links to the rest of Tayside as well as St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. It is within a 20 mile radius of award winning beaches, hills and countryside
