LOCUM APPOINTED FOR TRAINING (LAT) SPECIALTY REGISTRAR POST IN

ANAESTHETICS

Salary £40,995 - £54,235 per annum pro rata plus banding for OOH work

Fixed term until 6th August 2024

We are seeking to recruit a LAT Specialty Registrar (ST3 or above) within the North of Scotland Anaesthetic Training Programme.

The North of Scotland Anaesthetic Training Programme is delivered through Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in Aberdeen and Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. This post will be based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

This post commences from 7th February 2024 until 6th August 2024

Brief Description of the programme:

Raigmore Hospital is a busy district general hospital with most surgical specialities on site including major upper GI and Vascular. There is a maternity unit within the hospital as well as a children’s unit with a mixture of elective and emergency paediatric care. Raigmore has a busy critical care unit which has recently moved into a new larger joint ITU/HDU area. Trainees will get excellent experience in managing critically ill patients and Raigmore gets a high volume of trauma due to its geographical position.

Inverness is well served by air, rail and road which uniquely allows quick and easy access to the wild and spectacular scenery in the Highlands.

Aberdeen Medical School students rotate through Raigmore throughout their degree programme and there are many opportunities to become involved in student teaching. Students rotate through anesthetics at various stages and anesthetic trainees are often actively involved in delivering medical education.

Applicants should refer to the associated Person Specification to confirm eligibility for this post, available at.
