Job Advert

Senior Fellowship post is available from 1st August 2024 until 31st July 2025 based within the internationally renowned Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, in Scotland, where 21 consultants run 6 general anaesthetic theatres each day and provide national and regional services.

This post would be primarily directed at supporting the breast service which delivers 250 free flap breast reconstructions per annum, in addition to a range of oncoplastic procedures, implant-based reconstructions, and other procedures.

Candidates should be in possession of the FRCS (Plast), or equivalent international specialty training accreditation, at the time of commencing in post. They should have extensive experience in Burns, Hand, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (equivalent to U.K. ST6/7 or above) and a clear focus upon higher-order skills acquisition for reconstructive breast surgery.

A process exists to match training provision to the experience and sub-specialty training requirements of the successful candidate(s). On the basis of educational and progress assessments, candidates will be provided with targeted higher order training in reconstructive breast microsurgery.

The successful candidate would be on the ST-grade (registrar) on call rota throughout the post. This post is aimed at senior trainees from the U.K. or abroad, who seek higher-level training within reconstructive breast surgery. Further information is available from Mr R. Bramhall (Telephone: 0044-(0)141- 201 6435)
