Imaging – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
Band 5 – Radiographer (Rotational Posts)
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our dynamic and forward thinking Imaging Directorate within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Hospitals. We are recruiting rotational band 5 Radiographers to the Clyde, North and South West Sectors.
We welcome applications from newly qualified and experienced Radiographers.
All sectors operate a cross site rotational model enabling staff to develop a breadth and depth of knowledge and skills across scheduled and unscheduled care i.e. Accident & Emergency, GP referrals, inpatients, outpatients and elective and emergency theatre imaging.
Clyde Sector
Modality rotation includes Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy and Theatre, at the Royal Alexandria Hospital or Inverclyde Royal Hospital and spoke site Vale of Leven Hospital.
North Sector
Modality rotation includes Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy and Theatre with the opportunity to progress into CT, at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and spoke sites, New Stobhill Hospital and Glasgow Dental Hospital.
South West Sector
Modality rotation includes Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy and Theatre, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital – Major Trauma Centre and one of the following spoke sites including, Gartnavel General Hospital (inc. West of Scotland Beatson Oncology Centre), New Victoria Hospital, West Glasgow ACH.
We actively promote opportunity for further study at a post-graduate level leading to MSc Diagnostic Imaging in CT, MRI or MSc Advanced Practice, allowing you to underpin your key area of interest whilst enhancing patient care, experience and your knowledge at Glasgow Caledonian University which NHSGGC has close ties with or a university of your choice, (NHSGGC operated a staff bursary each year to assist those who wish to progress into post graduate study). Within the department and the wider MDTs we engage and participate in quality improvement groups which we encourage staff of all levels to get involved in where appropriate. NHSGGC radiographers host a CPD channel on Microsoft Teams where there are weekly CPD sessions SOR accredited, all sessions are recorded and can be listened to retrospectively.
It is essential you have a Degree in Radiography / DCR, with current HCPC registration or working towards registration. The hours of these posts are worked 5/7, 365 days per year including public holiday, extended day working and nightshifts. Successful candidates will benefit from a structured training and induction programme.
