The Urology Department provides an area wide service covering a population of 367,000.  The Department is based at University Hospital Ayr which is a modern general hospital opened in 1991. Within the Hospital the Urology Department is privileged to have a purpose built urology assessment unit which opened in 2002. The urology department is a progressive department fore-fronting developments in endo-urology, diagnostic services and service redesign.
