Band 2 Healthcare Support worker

  • This is an entry-level role and would suit someone looking to get into a health care setting, no experience is necessary, all we ask is you have a passion for patient care who will put patients first! This is a personal care role working to a Band 2 job description.

Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker

  • You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting.

Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker

  • This role is suitable for someone with experience in Health care and or has attained SCQF level 6/7 in a health care related subject. This role encompasses the full duties within the Band 3 Job Description.


  • Spotlight on North & South East Edinburgh School Nursing Teams

    Are you interested in being part of a team which is influential in helping to support children and young people? North & South East Edinburgh teams have exciting opportunities for Healthcare Support Workers to join their School Nursing teams.

    The South East Edinburgh School Nursing team (based in Gracemount Medical Centre) has two vacancies available. The posts are permanent band 3 (term time) 20 hours per week posts across 5 days, Monday to Friday.

    The North East Edinburgh School Nursing team (based in Allander House) has one vacancy available. The post is a permanent band 3 (term time) 20 hours per week across 5 days, Monday to Friday.

    For young people

    The roles of School Nurses has been refocused to help make Scotland the best place for children to grow up. The School Nursing service aims to support the health and well being of all children and their families, whilst offering more intensive support to those with the highest needs.


    Health Care Support Workers support the School Nursing teams goal of making sure Scotland's children are happy, healthy and safe by undertaking designated tasks such as Health Screenings in Schools.
