A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Principal Clinical Scientist to join the Treatment Planning & Imaging Section of Radiotherapy Physics at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

The Centre operates thirteen Varian linear accelerators, with a wide range of specialised VMAT planning techniques including SABR for a wide range of clinical sites, many delivered using FFF technology. Recent developments include the instalment of a Varian EthosTM adaptive radiotherapy system.    The successful candidate will be based at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow but may be required to carry out some duties at the Lanarkshire Beatson satellite centre in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.

Applicants should hold a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in Physics or allied subject. A recognised MSc in Medical Physics and a Dip IPEM in Physical Sciences in Medicine or equivalent experience is required. Applicants must also be a HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist and eligible to work as a Medical Physics Expert.

Candidates who are not currently MPEs will be considered for appointment if they can demonstrate they are within 12 months of certification.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate significant experience working as a Clinical Scientist with experience in Radiotherapy physics.
