An opportunity has arisen for a substantive appointment for a Consultant Colorectal & Pelvic Floor Surgeon to join the Tayside-wide Regional General Surgery Service. The post is based at NHS Tayside’s Hospitals namely Ninewells Hospital & Medical School with further sessions at Perth Royal Infirmary and Stracathro Hospital. The post holder will join a dynamic team of general surgeons who provide Emergency and Elective services (secondary and tertiary care) for general & subspecialist GI surgery (Colorectal, Upper GI, HPB, Advanced malignancy and Endocrine).
This post will have a major commitment to Emergency & Ambulatory General Surgery. Complementary sub-specialist interest is welcomed and encouraged through additional programmed activities (PA) or foreseen to be developed through the supporting programmed activities (SPA). Candidates should demonstrate expertise in intermediate and advanced laparoscopic surgery as well as competency in independent pelvic floor dysfunction diagnostic tools such as endo-anal ultrasound and anorectal manometry expertise and interpretation (subject to negotiation).
Applicants should be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT or CESR(CP) at the date of interview. Interview Date: 01 March 2024.
