12 month fixed term contract from AUGUST 2024
Applications are invited from individuals from any clinical discipline who are fully registered medical practitioners and who have a keen interest in medical education. You should normally be in specialty training with an NTN though other applicants will be considered. Experience or knowledge of teaching in an NHS setting is essential.
You will play a key role in the design, development, delivery and assessment of undergraduate teaching in NHS Highland as well as experience in the curriculum delivered by the Universities which send undergraduate students to NHS Highland.
The appointees will be based at the Highland Medical Education Centre, which is part of UHI House on the Raigmore Hospital campus.
Your time will be spent between clinical work (up to two sessions per week), teaching, and educational research or development.
The posts are for a period of one year, as either an out-of-programme experience or stand-alone experience. Funding is available to support you to undertake a postgraduate qualification in Medical Education (e.g. PG Certificate or Diploma). This post can equip you in your future career to lead and inspire in medical education.
The appointees will be appointed to this post on the current point of existing salary.
