Midwifery and Child Health Professional Lead (Head of Midwifery)
Band 8B: £67,285-£71,978
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated individual who is passionate and committed to delivering high-quality person-centred care to women and their families’ accessing services across Argyll & Bute. This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse/ midwife to provide supportive and visible leadership to our teams. Within this role you will provide professional leadership to a highly skilled, effective nursing and midwifery workforce to meet the needs of children and families, ensuring care and quality standards are met. The Midwifery and Child Health Professional Lead will facilitate safe and high-quality Children’s Health & Maternity care across Argyll and Bute. Working across boards with NHS GGC and NHS Highland to deliver this through implementation of policy, improvement & robust systems of quality assurance and clinical governance.
The post holder will fulfil the role and function of Professional lead for maternity and new-born services and Head of Midwifery (HoM) for Argyll and Bute.
The post holder will work closely with nursing and midwifery leadership colleagues from across NHS Highland, including the Director of Midwifery, Deputy Nurse Director, Board Nurse Director. Also working in partnership with senior operational managers, and clinical leads.
In applying for this role you will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with current Midwifery registration and have evidence of post graduate education. You will offer significant leadership and management experience. You should have a proven track record of success in leading service improvement, in delivering and monitoring high quality standards of care and to be proactive in your approach to partnership working and integration.
You will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development and change management.
