We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced infection prevention and control nurse with the ability to influence and articulate best Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) practices across our broad range of services.

The post holder must have experience in IPC and demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to engage with others.

The post holder must hold a recognised qualification in IPC.

The post holder will be a key player in our IPC agenda and work in collaboration with Directorate leaders across the organisation in ensuring robust IPC measures and governance processes are in place and embedded in practice.

The post holder will develop a quality, proactive and evidence based IPC service, to prevent and reduce the incidence of infections and implement systems to enhance patient and staff safety across the organization.

The ability to manage own workload is essential for this role.

The successful candidate must also be a computer literate, have good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate autonomous working and an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist Infection Prevention & Control advice and support to staff and teams working both in the acute and community services to ensure adherence to good practice in infection prevention and control.
  • The post holder will act as an advisor disseminating specialist skills and knowledge to all staff groups, patients and visitors and be visible and accessible to staff, patients and visitors acting as a role model at all times.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
