CLINICAL FACILITATOR

You will join the Institute of Education for Healthcare and Medical Sciences (IEHMS) as one of a team of academic, administrative, and clerical staff who support the medicine degree programme. The post is full time for a period of two years.
The primary aim of the post is to audit the accessibility of all University of Aberdeen clinical and social care placements and other teaching areas relating to the MBChB programme and to produce a report which details the accessibility status. This will include but not be limited to issues such as: the need to negotiate stairs, accommodation, public transport, closeness of disabled parking, disabled toilet access, fire evacuation plans, potential infection, prevention, and control issues.
You will join an enthusiastic multiprofessional team of staff who support the delivery of high quality undergraduate medical education in both the clinical environment of wards, clinics, and other appropriate areas as well as simulated clinical environments in training areas. The team is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative and high-quality learning experiences for medical undergraduate students.
The post is based on Foresterhill health campus.
Your line manager will be Ms Ashley Meldrum, Senior Clinical Educator, but you will work closely with Dr Wendy Watson, the Deputy Lead for the MBChB Programme with responsibility for Clinical Placements in the senior lead and all those with responsibility for clinical and social care placements and for accessibility within the University including e.g Disability Co-ordinators, Safety Advisers.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6, £37,099 - £44,263 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
