Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist (Newly qualified therapists will be considered and appointed as a band 5 initially progressing to band 6 once competencies are completed).

The positions is offered on a permanent basis.

What you will do:

Would you like to be part of a dynamic, innovative, friendly and welcoming team of Speech and Language Therapists working in a beautiful part of Scotland? Are you a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist, or experienced but seeking new opportunities, and looking to join an excellent team of Adult therapists?  This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in relation to speech, language, communication, and dysphagia therapy with adults in an inpatient setting.

The South Ayrshire Adult SLT team operate a single system model and work across an acute hospital, a community hospital, and community services.  We work in partnership with colleagues in health, social care, voluntary services, and the third sector to provide a genuinely person-centred service in a variety of locations, including remote working.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Relevant University Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Sciences

With a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Sciences, Dysphagia competency, you will hold current HCPC registration.

You will be well supported by a number of speech therapists and assistant practitioners. This post holder will work within the South Ayrshire Adult In patient team.  All posts involve joint working and there are opportunities to take part in training with more experienced colleagues, as well as undertake external training. You will be supported to gain your dysphagia competencies if you do not already have these. You will receive peer support and participate in an excellent supervision programme.

You must be able to effectively manage your own time, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
