Position
Are you a Band 7 Highly Speech and Language Therapist, or ready to develop your existing Band 6 skills in frailty and Rehabilitation, looking to join a dynamic team of inpatient therapists? We currently have a full-time, Band 7 Clinical lead post within our adult services team (Part time and Job Share will be considered).
The position is offered on a permanent basis.
What you will do:
This is an exciting opportunity to develop highly specialist level knowledge and skills in relation to communication and dysphagia. You will be a Rehabilitation Lead, developing and leading this work within Biggart Hospital and community hospital settings. The focus will be on stroke rehab as well as frail elderly rehab. This post aims to ensure enhanced clinical leadership within the in patient service across South Ayrshire HSCP, develop new and effective ways of working that improves Quality of patient care, avoids unnecessary admissions, and reduces length of stay.
You will lead a small and enthusiastic team of band 4, 5 and 6 SLT staff.. All posts involve some joint working and there are opportunities to take part in training with more experienced members of the team. All staff are supported to participate in a robust supervision programme and will be provided with regular CPD opportunities.
The SLT Adult team work in partnership with our community colleagues. We work closely with colleagues in health, social care, voluntary services, and the third sector to provide a genuinely person-centred service.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will hold a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent and current HCPC registration. Evidence of further theoretical training or experience to masters level or equivalent and demonstrable ability work autonomously is also required.
The successful candidate must show highly specialist clinical skills and knowledge, be able to effectively manage their own time, demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to show appropriate highly specialist level leadership skills. Experience of working in a Rehab / in patient setting is essential.
