Practice Nurse Opportunity

Job Description : An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of practice nurse to join our team at St Brycedale surgery. We are a friendly training practice with a population of approximately 7,500 patients. Our team consists of 4 GP partners, 2 salaried GP’s, 2 ANP’s, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 CTAC nurse and 3 Health Care Assistants.

Applicants will ideally have experience in general treatment room duties such as wound care, cervical screening, warfarin monitoring, stock rotation/ management, spirometry and either have experience or be working towards qualifications in Chronic Disease Management specifically Asthma and COPD.

Experience within general practice is preferred however all qualifications are not essential and training will be provided to the right candidate who shows a willingness to work towards personal and professional development. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this role as you will be working as an autonomous practitioner within the multi-disciplinary team.

This post is a part-time permanent position between 18-24 hours are required over Tuesday-Friday, We can be flexible with working hours/days depending on room availability.

Competitive salary is negotiable depending on experience. Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours.

Person Specification

(i) Be suitably qualified – Band 5 and above.

(ii) An awareness of own limitations and experience

(iii) Membership of a professional body

(iv) To work in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and within the scope of professional practice

(v) Ability to self-motivate, organise and prioritise workloads

(vi) Excellent communication skills
