Position

As part of a National Finance System utilising Advanced eFinancials Business Suite and Business Objects Xi this National Team will provide a support service to the users of these services across NHS Scotland.

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Intelligence Specialist to be part of this team. This role is important customer focused role providing a support and advice on reporting solutions work closely with our customers from the 22 NHS Scotland Boards. 

What you will do:

You will assess/evaluate users reporting requirements, gaining a full understanding of what the user is trying to achieve, and will design/implement high quality solutions that meet those requirements. You will be required to deliver ‘national standards’ for largely similar reporting requirements from Boards and to create innovative, graphical, user-friendly solutions, focussed on providing otherwise unavailable degrees of data analysis/presentation. Modern business analysis techniques are expected to feature in your delivery, with solutions using intuitive dashboard and data warehousing techniques.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge/experience in a relevant technical / analytical area; preferably finance related, you should have experience of input to strategic and operational reporting solutions. As well as experience in business analysis and reporting development with industry standard report writing tools. A broad knowledge of all departments within Finance and Procurement and have previous experience within a relevant Finance or Procurement section. You should also have a good working knowledge of Finance and Procurement modules within eFinancials. 

Good inter-personal skills are a key with the ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical colleagues
