An opportunity has arisen for an experienced mental health nurse to join the healthcare team based in HMP Inverness.    You will manage a caseload of clients who experience mental illness whilst in the prison setting. 

In addition you will be responsible for the management and supervision of other healthcare staff, offering support, supervision and guidance to enable the mental health needs of all prisoners presenting with mental health difficulties to access interventions appropriate to their needs.  You will work closely with SPS personal officers, ensuring an awareness of the care plan by all who come into contact with the client. 

You will have a lead role in ensuring robust pathways are in place ensuring seamless transition back to local communities and access to locality based mental health services.   

This is an exciting time to join prison healthcare services, with plans in place for a new prison to be opened in Inverness in 2025. 

A relocation package may be available for the successful candidate 

Shift pattern- working hours Monday – Friday with occasional weekend working.
