Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is Monday-Friday (37.5).

We are recruiting for the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist within NHSGGC Travel Health Services. This post forms part of a newly formed Travel Health Team.

The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) within Travel Health requires specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision making and clinical judgment by independently managing the care of patients who wish to travel to other countries utilising high levels of specialist clinical assessment, decision making and clinical judgement to formulate appropriate vaccination and treatment plans.

This post holder will provide specialist advice and support for clients to aid in their decision making when travelling to countries in which additional vaccination or specialist travel medicines are required or recommended.

This post holder will also support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence- based standards, guidelines and policies. You must be registered with the NMC.
