This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.

To reduce the risk of injury to staff and patients, in order to comply with NHS Lothian Manual Handling Policy, in line with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (1992), by providing formal and informal manual handling education, undertake onsite manual handling competency assessments, provide expert onsite advice in relation to complex manual handling situations and conducting ergonomic workplace risk assessments with recommendations to facilitate safer systems of work. To reduce the musculo-skeletal sickness absence associated with manual handling activities by providing manual handling advice, education and ongoing support.
