Post Title: Medical Director
Salary Range: £96,963 to £128,841 (plus management fee of £41,491) per annum
Tenure: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week / 10 PA
Location: Ninewells Hospital, Dundee
NHS Tayside are transforming the way we deliver healthcare, particularly as we move into recovery post pandemic, ensuring that services are safe, affordable and, importantly, sustainable for the future; a whole-system redesign which seeks to find solutions and new ways of delivering health and care is led by our clinicians. It is rooted in maintaining safe, high-quality patient care, remodelling our workforce to improve outcomes using realistic medicine principles whilst meeting financial balance. Implementing fundamental transformation towards modern world class services, the Board will also address underlying financial, workforce and service delivery issues.
To thrive in this role the Medical Director will share our vision, aim and values and will provide inspirational and empowering leadership to our medical professionals, dentists, pharmacists, healthcare scientists and Psychologists to sustain a culture of continuous quality improvement where patients and service users are put first. Key to this will be partnerships with the Nurse Director to ensure robust governance and regulatory frameworks for effective monitoring, review and improved clinical performance across the Board and the Health & Social Care Partnerships.
To be successful you must be an inspirational and credible clinician with extensive managerial and leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering clinical and service transformational change within the NHS or other large complex organisation. You must hold current registration with the GMC (GP or Specialty Register) and hold a licence to practice.
