The Post:
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and highly motivated HCC Clinical Nurse Specialists to support the Scottish Care and Coordination service for Hepatobiliary Cancer (SCOT-HPB)
SCOT-HPB is an evolving service designed to expedite the diagnostic pathway and improve the care of patients with a suspected pancreatic or hepatocellular (HCC) cancer living anywhere in Scotland.
The applicant will be working autonomously on the HCC pathway to triage patients and streamline their care ahead of discussion at their regional MDT.
The Candidate:
Applicants will be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and have a post graduate master’s level qualification or equivalent experience. You will have evidence of being an established clinical leader in their field, along with experience of working within an established HPB MDT. Working closely with the other members of the SCOT - HPB team and local/regional MDTs you will: lead the team to implement evidence-based pathways; play a key role in expediting diagnosis and treatment for people with HPB cancer; and enhance communication across care sectors, to enable access to person centred care across Scotland.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.
Location and Working Pattern:
The base location will be Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow depending on the successful candidate’s preference.
Hybrid working at home and at NSS location will be required and the work pattern is office hours Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. Consideration will be given to requests to work part-time.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
