    Main Base: Western General or Royal Infirmary Edinburgh or St John’s Hospital NHS Lothian main site, flexible travel across NHSL Acute Services Hospital Sites.

Undertake RPE related administration and Face Fit Testing to identified staff across the four NHS Lothian Acute Services Hospital Sites (Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Western General, St John’s and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.) and Community. Reporting to the Lead H&S Advisor.

Key requirements:
    •    Ideally have Fit2fit accreditation or prepared to work towards achieving accreditation in qualitative and quantitative fit testing within 6 months of appointment. 
•    NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate or working towards or are be prepared to work towards achieving the Award Qualification within 6 months of appointment.
•    Experience of undertaking Face Fit Testing (FFT)
•    Excellent listening and oral communication skills.
•    Experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures
•    Competent in the use of software for communication and data input.
•    Have a disciplined and organised approach when undertaking the work ensuring compliance with the most up to date Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance when FFT and in the application of other RPE use.
•    Ability to work on their own without any immediate supervisory support.

Further information:    
•    The Health and Safety Department is a source of expertise in safety systems. These include organisational aspects equipping the management chain with the infrastructure, management accountabilities, committee structure, policies and procedures guidance, assessment tools and training to enable it to identify, assess and resolve health and safety problems.
•    Interviews will be held in March 2024.
•    Undertaking Face Fit Testing/RPE/PPE use and their associated requirements will be the primary function, however there will be potential supportive development opportunities in other aspects of Health and Safety.
