An opportunity has arisen for an individual to take on the role of Therapy Support Worker within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. 

As a CAMHS Therapy Support Worker within Fife CAMHS, you will join a well established, multi-disciplinary team with the aim of assisting in the provision of effective community based assessments and therapeutic interventions. 

You will be required to support the process of therapeutic interventions for children and young people who present to Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service with complex and enduring mental health issues.  This will be achieved through accepting delegated work from senior clinical staff from within your identified team. This work will include delivering behavioural interventions and assisting with therapeutic group work under the guidance and supervision of clinical staff. You will also be required to provide practical support to senior colleagues by assisting with a number of administrative duties.

The post holders will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously in a wide variety of hospital and community settings. You will also be expected to participate in existing team and individual clinical supervision.

The post holder will have direct experience in working with and supporting children, young people & families affected by mental health difficulties. However, enthusiasm, the ability to engage with children and young people and an understanding of the challenges facing this client group are essential. You will be able to respond to the needs of the service and the locality which will include the ability to travel across Fife and wider as required. 

If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.
