NHS Lothian, Digital & IT, GMS Facilitator
Grade: Band 5
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, with flexibility between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Location: Based at 56 Canaan Lane, Edinburgh EH10 4SG though will require some travel throughout the Lothian area.
Salary: £30,229 - £37,664 per annum. Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated training and support team, providing assistance and training to GPs ,their practice staff and the attached health care professionals in using GP IT systems and data recording
Key Responsibilities
• Work as part of the Digital Team to ensure a consistent, high-quality service is delivered.
• Provide training on GP Practice clinical system software e.g Vision, Docman, SCI Gateway both in person and using MS Teams
• Plan, develop and deliver seminars and workshops
• Maintain up to date knowledge of GP Practice clinical system software and troubleshoot any issues.
• Awareness of how GP systems use clinical coding to record diagnosis and clinical information.
• Use clinical system reporting and auditing tools to provide patient statistics.
• Create bespoke training documentation
• Liaise with other Digital Colleagues to resolve general IT issues
• Liaise with system suppliers to resolve clinical system issues.
• Train and support Dental Practitioners and Opticians with their NHS referrals using SCI Gateway.
• the development and delivery of mentoring and training requirements for local and national projects.
What we are looking for:
• Knowledge of GP Practice clinical system software e.g. Vision/Docman and SCI Gateway etc
• Knowledge of processes used in General Practice
• Experience of training users with varying levels IT skills
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine curiosity and willingness to learn new skills and research new ideas.
• Verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organisation.
• Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships throughout the organisation
• Strong customer service skills, excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work on a wide range of issues.
• Understand IT operational support frameworks including incident management and service level agreements.
• Be positive, empathetic, enthusiastic, and confident to represent the Digital and IT Operations and infrastructure, along with NHS Lothian Values.
