The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 08.30-16.30 (37.5 hours).

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Nurse Team Lead who specialises in Bladder and Bowel Health to join a Board Wide community team, aimed at the promotion of excellent Bowel and Bladder health through comprehensive assessment, a variety of interventions and where required, support with the use of containment products.

It is a specialist role with Nurse Team Lead responsibility for a team of Band 6, 5 and 3 staff. Applicants should be passionate about the promotion of excellent pelvic health and be experienced in working autonomously and managing a team of specialist staff. The team is multidisciplinary and covers a host of interventions therefore there is always the opportunity to develop, learn and teach new skills as the area of continence promotion evolves. The post holder will be:

  • Responsible for a team of continence nurses and clinical support staff in a designated locality, providing support and guidance, and ensuring effective caseload management across the team in order to meet identified service needs and service level commitments.
  • Responsible for assessment, diagnosis and management of own caseload, maintaining associated records, providing often complex interventions to service users.

The post holder will work in collaboration with other band 7 staff to lead and adopt responsibility for developing and enhancing nursing skills, competencies in line with the requirements of clinical governance to provide safe and effective care for patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction. The role also is crucial in the ongoing quality assurance process of clinical services and the regulation of nursing practice. The Nurse Team Lead will be accountable for the enablement and the enhancement of leadership skills in the nursing workforce for their area. The role will be critical to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical guidelines, procedures and policies and the monitoring of clinical standards.

Applicants should be a registered nurse. Moderate post registration experience within the specialty of continence is desirable. The ability to drive is essential as this role is a city wide and travelling will be expected. You will be required to adhere to NMC standards and NHSGGC policies. The post is 37.5 hours per week, excluding weekends and public holidays.
