To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Life then work...

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team at Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin - a great place to live and work, lying between the coast of the Moray Firth and the mountains of the Highlands and the Cairngorm National Park.

The post-holder would be welcomed into a middle grade team of Emergency Medicine Medics, delivering 24/7 care to patients in Moray. You would be joining an engaged, high energy team and will bring your own unique value to the already diverse team. We are looking to recruit 1.7 WTE to this dynamic team. You would be predominantly clinical, working amongst your middle grade colleagues, under the oversight of the Emergency Medicine Consultant Team and supporting the Junior Trainees. This is a full time role with working pattern driven by a 24/7 middle grade rolling rota, 12 hour shifts with 50:50 out of hours work split. Time will be allocated within the rota for one's own development and wider service improvement activities; this could include, clinical pathway development, clinical audits, training and education. We will ensure you benefit from ongoing supervision and training and you will be supported with local and wider training/development opportunities to fulfil the role as needed and in support of your annual appraisal and PDP.

We welcome applications from GP’s wishing to develop their Emergency skills.  At Dr Gray’s we operate a flexible middle grade rota and as such the post holders can combine this post with other roles. We welcome applicants with a range of availability from 12 to 40 hours per week. This offers you the opportunity to protect time for your life outside of medicine so you and your family can enjoy all that Moray has to offer.

Salary- at Emergency Medical Practitioner (GP) aligned to the local OOH GP Scale (£120,991 for a WTE).

You will be coming to work in a department that has a family feel great teaching from FRCEM examiners, Ultrasound trainers, Paediatric Emergency Medicine consultants, Pre-hospital Care Consultants & Examiners and most importantly fabulous colleagues that make coming to work fun.  Have a look at our GMC training survey which we are very proud about.

Come for a long weekend and speak to our medical staff about work and play (you may be surprised about our climate and rainfall!).  Cheap flights are available several times a day to Inverness or Aberdeen.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).  For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
