The Post/Candidate:

Applications are invited for the post of Blood Transfusion Driver within the Logistics section of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion.

As part of a team the driver provides various transport services to SNBTS. These services must be delivered to a high standard and will involve travel throughout Scotland. Some weekend working and overnight stays are required. Participation in an out of hours on-call system will be required. A range of vehicles required to be driven covering cars, coaches and articulated vehicles.

The successful candidate will be required to hold valid licenses for class B, CE and/or DE (Car, Articulated Vehicle and/or Coach).  Candidates must also be in possession of a current Drivers CPC.

PLEASE NOTE:

Candidate(s) who have partially fulfill license requirements will also be considered as full training can be offered to the successful candidate(s)

The successful candidate(s) must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location: The Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh

The work pattern is  a rotational shift pattern and does involve on-call working.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
