We have a full time position (a small reduction in hours may be negotiable)  Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse available within Ward 210, Head & Neck specialty in NHS Grampian.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an excellent team within the Head & Neck Speciality and to develop in your nursing career within the division of Surgery. We require a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual wishing to work within a complex care environment and develop leadership skills within the specialty. You will be required to support and lead the ward team and work closely with the Multidisciplinary and Consultant Team rising to any presenting challenges. You will have the ability to work under pressure in a busy and highly specialised environment.  

Ward 210 is a 15 bedded surgical ward specialising in Head & Neck Surgery, with a 2 bed Close observation Unit to care for patients following complex reconstructive surgery and airway management (Tracheostomies and Laryngectomies). Airway emergencies may present directly to the ward or be stepped down from Intensive care. As well as having a busy elective schedule we also receive Head & Neck emergency admissions to the ward 24/7. A Rapid Access Clinic is based on the ward to assess and treat unscheduled admissions.

Suitable candidates should have extensive post registration nursing experience, with current experience as a senior nurse in a ward environment.

The suitable candidate must have good leadership skills, be able to work effectively and efficiently within this busy well established department. You must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to adapt your skills to ever changing situations. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate clinical excellence in nursing practice, have experience in management and evidence of continuous service improvement and development.
