Come and join the hospice team making today matter for patients and families across Ayrshire. We currently have a vacancy for a Catering Assistant within our busy Catering team.

The Ayrshire Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran. We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families. Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.
Our In-Patient Unit is currently based within East Ayrshire Community Hospital, Cumnock until 2024 when Hospice returns to their home on Racecourse Road, Ayr.


In this role the Ayrshire Hospice Catering Assistant works alongside the Ayrshire Hospice cook and BAM FM catering team to support patient meals. You will assist in the service of a professional, high quality catering and hospitality service to patients, staff, relatives and visitors to the hospice. You must hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate and have previous experience of working in a catering environment, experience in a healthcare setting is desirable. You must also have a knowledge of food hygiene & HACCP regulations. Candidates should have good communication skills and a self-motivated approach to work and an ability to work using their own initiative. You must be able to work a flexible shift pattern including weekends.
