Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist.  We are seeking a talented and credible professional leader to lead the design and delivery of a best practice, evidence based model of dysphagia care for Ayrshire.

The position is offered on a permanent basis.

What you will do:

You will provide clinical leadership and provision of professional advice, managing complex clinical decisions and working collaboratively to ensure that standards of dysphagia care practice reflect professional and organisational standards.


A key objective of this post, and initial focus will be to design and deliver education and professional development programmes for multi-disciplinary colleagues working across Ayrshire.  You will promote and facilitate the development of a learning environment, supporting reflective practice and work based learning so that services continuously improve and develop.


You will have a lead role in ensuring the use and sharing of best practice, evidence based care, clinical audit and evaluation across professions and services.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

As an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, you will be educated to Masters level or equivalent, and have active registration with HCPC. A Post graduate qualification in advanced dysphagia is an essential requirement for this new role.

 

You will bring significant experience of operating effectively in a leadership role, with evidence of delivering on quality improvements.  You will be able to evidence highly developed interpersonal skills and effective communication and influencing skills.  Clinically credible, you will have a sound understanding of the current strategic landscape and contemporary issues related to dysphagia practice. 


As part of the NMAHP Leadership team, you will have access to regular supervision and professional support.

This post is available up to 37.5 hours per week - Happy to consider part time hours
