Spotlight on Psychiatry at St John's Hospital in Livingston We have vacancies for experienced and newly qualified nurses to join our Psychiatry wards at St John's Hospital in Livingston. Ward 3 Ward 3 is a 12 bedded acute mental health admission for adults 65 and over, aiming to provide a therapeutic and positive environment for those experiencing increased distress due to their mental health and those requiring additional support due to cognitive impairment. Ward 3 operates using a lock-door policy with entry and exit from the ward being supported by nursing staff, facilitating and promoting safety and wellbeing of both those we care for and those who visit. Ward 3 strives to work closely with all MDT professionals to ensure our client group receive a high quality and standard of care and treatment during their recovery journey. Ward 3 also provides the opportunity to enhance clinical skills in relation to physical health conditions, and assessment for patients who experience stress and distressed behaviours. Full encouragement is given to pursue educational courses that will gain transferable skills to put into clinical practice to upskill our team. Based on the first floor of St John’s Hospital. It is an exciting, fast paced ward with a culture for learning and development. We are looking for a band 5 to join our team. Ward 1 (Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit) An exciting opportunity is available to join the team at Ward 1, the Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (IPCU) at St John’s Hospital in NHS Lothian. We offer the opportunity to work within a well established multidisciplinary team that practices in a compassionate and trauma informed manner. We also offer the opportunity to work with talented teams within other mental health services across the site, impacting positively on the lives of many patients and their families.
