Position

NHS Ayrshire and Arran were successful in the bid to host the National Secure Adolescent Inpatient services for young people aged between 12 and their 18th birthday who present a level of risk and we are now moving towards the finalisation of the build and the clinical model with the expectation that the service will accepting the first young people into the service in 2024.

We are excited to announce that we are now inviting for application: forward thinking, motivated, highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who have an understanding of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and/or Forensic Mental health with relevant experience.   

The position is offered on a permanent basis.

What you will do:

You will be based at Foxgrove National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service within Ayrshire Central Hospital and will join and work alongside the Service Manager and clinical team to assist in completion of the final development of pathways and processes, participate in the recruitment process of junior staff, whilst having the opportunity to build the culture and ethos of the service prior to its opening in 2024.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

With a MSc in Speech and Language Therapy, pre-reg MSc or degree equivalent, you will have current HCPC registration and evidence of further theoretical training and experience to masters level or equivalent within a specialist area and demonstrable ability to work autonomously.
