Ward 3 is an acute 30 bedded Respiratory Unit, with a nursing, medical and AHP team who enjoy a close working relationship. We have recently had a period of change and we are evolving and building as we grow to respond to changing dynamic of our patient profile and changes within our profession.

Our nurse team has some very experienced Registered Nurses, but also a reasonable number of junior and newly qualified Registered Nurses, so this area requires educational support and nurture of our growing team. Some of our Registered Nurses and Health Care Support Workers have worked together for over twenty years – this is a strong foundation and is testament to the commitment to our values and ethos of patient centred care.

As a team, we are supported by a Specialist Nurse network that include Respiratory Liaison Team, Home Ventilation Team, Lung Cancer Team, along with Specialist Nurses in ILD and Cystic Fibrosis – all of whom provide in reach support and onwards out patient and home care of our patients.

As Senior Charge Nurse of this unit, and as part of the wider medicine division, you will provide professional and clinical leadership, support, guidance, nurture and empowerment of the nurse team through inspiration, supported education, development and demonstration as you practice. You will have experience in managing people, and have a passion for improving the experience and care for patients.
