The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 08.00-16.00.
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital requires a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Estates dayshift team to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus.
The post holder must be a time served mechanical engineer, qualified to HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification), with a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience.
While the primary role of the post holder will be to carry out mechanical tasks, they will be part of a multi-skilled technical team and will be responsible for the delivery of specialist technical services for a wide range of duties in relation to all disciplines of building services, including, but not limited to, plumbing, medical gases, HVAC, and electrical systems. It is essential that the post holder accepts a wide range of cross trade duties so as to deliver a high standard of service.
The successful applicant will also have responsibilities to assist with training and education of apprentices and adult trainees, ensuring they gain the necessary training and experience to meet the needs of their training program. This will also include some work with managers to identify and set up training programs.
