Job Advert

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Dietitian to join one of our Tayside teams. The post offers an excellent opportunity to deliver a wide range of community based nutritional care with an emphasis on nutrition support, (including home enteral feeding) in Perthshire community settings such as GP practices, community hospitals, patients’ homes and care homes. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other health and care colleagues, taking a pro-active approach to the clinical care of patients, service improvement, education and pathway development. There will also be the opportunity to take a local lead for student training if this is something of interest.

The post holder will also be responsible for the supervision of Dietetic Support Workers and/or a Band 5 Rotational Dietitian. Excellent team working and communication skills are therefore essential in this role, as is the ability to work independently.

The Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service promotes collaborative working across all our teams in different settings and specialities. This enables and encourages the development and implementation of pathways, standards and innovative practice. It also allows for extensive peer support and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to the training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
