Applications are invited for the post of Community Learning Disability Charge Nurse in the Learning Disability Additional Support Team (AST) based at the Red Lodge, Larbert.
This band 6 post is a part-time post of 22.5 hours per week for a 12 month period to cover Maternity Leave. Experience in forensic risk management, crisis interventions and a trauma informed approach is fundamental to the post. Case load management, acting as an autonomous practitioner, with ability to work across teams and services are skills essential to this post. Evidence of experience and/or professional development in leadership and collaborative working is also desirable.
The post holder is directly Line Managed by the Learning Disability AST Team Lead. Regular supervision will be provided to the post-holder.
The Additional Support Team provide expert supplementary support to existing community learning disability teams across both partnerships for individuals who display severe and or enduring challenging behaviour, autistic spectrum disorder, mental illness and offending behaviour.
The post holder will work in partnership to promote care planning and risk management for people with Learning Disabilities who may offend, enabling inclusion and choice, independence and rights within legal frameworks. They will carry a caseload both within the forensic and crisis specialities within the Additional Support Team, pro-rata.
Registered as a Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) is essential qualification for this post, and knowledge of policy trends and legislation within learning disabilities health and social care required.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
