Applications are invited for the post of Advanced Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology  at the Western General Hospital (WGH), Edinburgh.  This posts will run for one year from August 2024. 

This is an advanced clinical fellowship posts for gastroenterology trainees who have completed (or close to completing) their basic gastroenterology training and are independently competent in routine upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy as well as clinical work, and who wish to obtain advanced training in inflammatory bowel disease and/or endoscopic areas such as advanced endoscopic techniques.

The Western General Hospital has a strong track record in advanced training. 

The advanced Clinical Fellow spend 50% of their job plan on service commitment (e.g. clinics, diagnostic endoscopy) and the remaining time is spent offering specialist training, audit and research in inflammatory bowel disease and in advanced colonoscopy. 

The post will participate in the Gastroenterology out of hours on-call rota. There is no general medical commitment.

This post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
