Assistant GP Director - West of Scotland

Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
This is a replacement Assistant Director post in the West of Scotland. Assistant Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education (AD) has responsibility for assisting the Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education in the development and management of education for General Practice in the West Region of the Scotland Deanery particularly, but responsibility may extend to other programmes out with the West region. Responsibility for particular programmes will be discussed at interview.
The AD will work with the Director and other colleagues to discharge this responsibility across the Deanery. The AD is accountable to the Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education and ultimately to the Executive Medical Director.
The AD role will include two sessions for national Scotland Deanery activities. The national activities will be negotiated with the Director, and while accountability for the national activity will be to the appropriate Scotland Deanery Workstream Lead, the line management for the AD post will remain with the Director.
