NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ultrasound Department for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team with an interest in pursuing and developing a career in ultrasound. The successful applicant will undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound. You will join a friendly, forward thinking and highly professional team who will be keen to support your learning and development.

All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, and hold a degree in a relevant health care field. · You must already have UK registration with an appropriate regulatory body.
(HCPC/NMC). · Post registration clinical experience and have experience of working in the NHS setting Desirable: · 2 years experience of working in an NHS hospital setting.
This post will give you the exciting opportunity to undertake a Post-graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound at Glasgow Caledonian university, with a structured training programme, whilst receiving full-time on the job training. You will be required to attain your post graduate certificate in ultrasound within the required timeframe, usually 12 months. Following this, there will be the opportunity to specialise and attain a post graduate Diploma.
Upon successful completion, you will be a qualified Sonographer (Advanced Ultrasound Practitioner) and will work autonomously within the department to provide a 5 day ultrasound service, with the expectation to provide a 7 day service in the future.
You will be expected to participate in the delivery of a high-quality Ultrasound service. The case-mix will include gynaecological, general abdominal, DVT and small parts ultrasound examinations. As part of this post, you will be supported through your clinical placement by our highly specialised team of sonographers.
The successful candidates are required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, In particular, you should have proven experience of working in a team-based clinical environment with patients, a positive work attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, a high standard of timekeeping and computer skills.
