Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker
- You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting.
Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker
- This role is suitable for someone with experience in Health care and or has attained SCQF level 6/7 in a health care related subject. This role encompasses the full duties within the Band 3 Job Description.
Spotlight on the Sexual Health Clinic in West Lothian
Part-time job opportunity for a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker in providing specialist sexual and reproductive health care to work in the world class fully integrated NHS Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service. Part-time permanent, 22.5hours predominantly based in West Lothian at our Howden (Livingston) and Whitburn services with some travel to Chalmers (Edinburgh).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time senior healthcare support worker to work in Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS). The fully integrated service is composed of Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh and Howden Centre in Livingston and up to 9 other local clinics. It provides Tier 4 and 5 specialist sexual health services working across 4 Community Health and Social Care Partnerships meeting the needs of 80,000 patient attendances per annum. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30-16.30 or 12.00 – 20.00 with a minimum of one evening shift per week and the possibility of long days in some circumstances.
The post holder would be expected to participate in the care of people requiring Genitourinary Medicine, HIV, Contraceptive, unplanned pregnancy and gynaecological care. The role includes working independently within own clinics, venepuncture, vaccinations, PrEP and opportunities to work in other specialist fields of practice located within LSRHS.
This post will predominantly be based in West Lothian at Howden Centre Livingston and at our Whitburn service but travel to Chalmers in Central Edinburgh regularly may also be required.
