Applications are invited for a Consultant Endocrinologist based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. This post is to enhance the delivery and development of endocrine services to the population of Tayside with additional requirements to deliver acute unscheduled care within the Acute Medical Unit

The successful applicant should possess MRCP and be included on the Specialist Register for Endocrinology/Diabetes plus General or Acute Internal Medicine or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently in training. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.

Applicants should have established skills in endocrinology with a particular focus on the management of subspeciality areas such as pituitary disease, neuroendocrine tumours or transitional endocrinology. Strong generalist skills are required for both the delivery of speciality clinics and acute unscheduled care. A strong commitment to Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching. Our links with the University of Dundee bring opportunities for the development of research interests.

Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a 10-minute presentation on:

“What is the role of the Consultant Endocrinologist in the modern NHS”
