The role

We are seeking a transformative Principal Finance Manager for our Clyde Sector within Acute Services.

The Clyde Sector provides services within the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Inverclyde Royal Hospital and the Vale of Leven Hospital and hosts some of our Acute wide services too, including Dermatology, Hospital Discharge and Palliative Care. The Sector has a total revenue budget of over £200 million and employs over 3,300 staff.

Reporting to the Head of Finance (Clyde and Women’s & Children's), you will be a key member of the Clyde Sector Management team supporting key stakeholders to improve financial performance whilst delivering high quality services for our communities.

You will lead in the delivery of robust monthly and annual accounts and provide professional advice and forecasts to a variety of service users. In addition you will be the finance lead for a portfolio of highly complex projects across a wide range of services for the planning and development of short, medium and longer-term initiatives including the Sectors financial improvement programme.

The role is based at our office in Dykebar Hospital with free parking and easy access to the motorway network you’ll be part of an inclusive and innovative finance team. In addition, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde supports hybrid working.

Do you fit the requirements?

We are looking for an engaging and inspiring leader who;

  • can challenge conventional thinking, embrace change and has a genuine desire to continuously improve financial performance.
  • bring experience of developing and implementing financial strategy and leading transformation and change.
  • possesses excellent people management skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • a qualified accountant with current membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (e.g. CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • can demonstrate experience in senior roles with a broad range of practical experience in the provision of a modern financial management service, including performance management, project management and staff management.
