NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is Pollok Monday – Friday 8am – 11.45am. Thornliebank Monday – Wednesday & Friday 7am –9am and Thus 7am –11am.
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours
There are two positions within this post. Post one- Pollock Health Centre-18.75 hours. Post two- Thornliebank Health Centre & Pollokshaws Clinic-12 hours.
The Caretaker/Maintenance assistant is responsible for providing an effective maintenance and portering service, ensuring that the environment is kept clean and hazard free. They are responsible for general maintenance duties and minor new work. After initial induction and on the job training to allow them to carry out these duties, the post holder will work with little supervision although guidance and assistance is available from supervisor / line manager on a daily basis. The post holder has a responsibility for building security and may be required to open and lock up own base premises or other premises within the South Sector as required during periods of leave.
Liaison is required with internal departments, external contractors, General Practitioners and all users of the premises. No formal qualifications are required as on the job training and induction will be provided however, it is essential that you are competent in carrying out minor works, have good written and verbal communication skills, are able to work as part of a team, follow protocols and prioritise your workload and be flexible. Experience of minor maintenance, caretaking or portering is desirable, as are keyboard skills and data input experience.
