An exciting opportunity exists to for a highly dynamic and innovative individual to join an exemplary integrated multi-professional pain team. The Integrated Pain Service is a level 4 Chronic Pain Service, a tertiary referral centre for Spinal Cord Stimulation with a dynamic in-patient pain service providing complex pain management for patients in the acute post-op/post trauma environment.


The post holder will work in partnership with the existing multi-disciplinary integrated in-patient team and provide specialist knowledge within the In-patient service and out- patient clinics. Working across three hospital sites with a main base in Ninewells, you will provide specialist management for complex pain presentations in the acute post-operative/post trauma setting while providing multi-disciplinary education and training, contributing to the production of clinical guidelines and protocols and adopt a collaborative approach to promote pain management throughout primary and secondary care. The post holder will be integral to developing and implementing an Integrated Pain Service throughout NHS Tayside.


The individual is required to use their initiative, organising and managing a caseload, whilst also able to contribute to a multi-professional team approach. Applicants will demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development in the field of pain management or relevant field, including evidence of teaching in a clinical environment, audit and quality improvement, be qualified to degree level with previous post-reg experience. Individuals will work to achieve the knowledge and skills aligned with the RCN UK Career Framework for Pain nurses.
